Package 5: The Bittingworth March

Doctor Bittingworth the Barrister and Dr Bittingworth the Doctor live with their daughters Adelia and Ebba in a grand house in the centre of Gloaming. Being such terribly busy and important people, the Doctors Bittingworth don’t always have much time to spend with their children. But Adelia and Ebba prefer it that way because it means that they get to exercise their special talents without too much interference. You see, the Bittingworth girls might not look like much, but they’re actually super strong. They love nothing more than competing to lift heavy weights or wrestling with each other. Last week they threw their dad’s car into the river and today, they’re building a huge den out of the heaviest furniture they can find and wondering if they could steal an elephant from the zoo by carrying it off before anyone noticed. Their mum and dad worry that this isn’t really how Gloaming girls are supposed to be and if Adelia and Ebba don’t conform, they might not be safe from the Safe Keeper for much longer.

Please remember that the workshop materials that appear on this website were still in development when published, so they shouldn’t be taken as finished works. Cautionary Tale is a show about finding hope and spreading joy when all seems lost.  We’ve lost our chance, for the time being,  to work on developing the show as we had planned but we’d still like to share the joy. For a limited time, we’re sharing extracts from the score, lyrics, script, choreography and design of Cautionary Tale here so you can get a flavour of this show by reading, rehearsing and performing some of it in your own home. These works are copyright and the use of the materials posted here is strictly for personal, non-commercial use.   Once we are ready to go back into production these resources will be removed.
